Celia Aniskovich on Internships and the Film Industry

Please join the Entrepreneurship Club and the Center for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion on Tuesday, April 29. from 6:45–7:45 p.m. in PHI 35 for a conversation with Celia Aniskovich, a New York–based director, producer, and founder of Dial Tone Films and Switchboard Magazine. Celia began her career as an NBC Page and has since produced acclaimed projects for Netflix, HBO Max, Lifetime, and Discovery+, including How to Fix a Drug Scandal, Fear City, and Call Me Miss Cleo. Her work has been Oscar-qualified and nominated for multiple honors including Realscreen and Astra Awards. She’ll speak about breaking into media, the path from internships to directing award-winning films, and what it takes to launch and lead your own production company. Students interested in film, journalism, storytelling, or entrepreneurship won’t want to miss this!

Nitin Sacheti (LinkedIn), the youngest of the three Sacheti siblings who attended Loomis Chaffee, graduated in 2001 and earned his BA in economics from The University of Chicago. In January 2016 Michael D. Klett and Mr. Sacheti launched Papyrus Capital LP, a New York City-based investment fund. The pair developed an interest in investing while at Loomis and were founding members of the Pelican Investment Club, which was active during their time on the Island. Papyrus Capital is an investment adviser focused on compounding partner capital by investing in mispriced public securities, mostly equities, with an emphasis on intrinsic value generation over time.

Ben Sharf (LinkedIn) will join us for a second time to provide feedback on our assignment from his last workshop, which is to interview ten people who would be end users for a potential service/product. He will develop on his previous curriculum about the difference between belief in a product’s usefulness versus knowledge of it, in addition to the requirements for scaling an idea and when to start doing so.
